We keep referrers informed only with the family's consent, we coordinate with treating clinicians and attorneys when invited to, and nothing about a referral requires you to disclose more than your own ethical rules allow. Your relationship with the client typically continues. An intervention is an episode of care, not a replacement for the therapist, physician, attorney, or pastor who will still be there when treatment ends. Most referrers find the relationship strengthens, because the family remembers who moved when it mattered.
