Recovery is real, and the people who live it are the best proof. This page is where we gather stories of families and individuals who found their way back.
When a family is in the middle of a loved one's addiction, hope can be the hardest thing to hold onto. You have watched promises break and situations worsen, and it becomes easy to believe your family's story can only end one way. Recovery stories exist to push back on that belief with something stronger than reassurance: real experience.
Every member of the Clear Path team who is in recovery once looked like someone's lost cause. So did many of the people our families fought for. Recovery stories are how we remember, and how we show newcomers, that the person behind the addiction is still there and still reachable. It is the same conviction that drives every intervention we facilitate. These stories also matter for the person still struggling: hearing from someone who used the same substances, told the same lies, and burned the same bridges, and who now lives free of all of it, cuts through denial in a way that lectures never can.
The person behind the addiction is still there and still reachable. Nobody is too far gone to come back.
Recovery stories are rarely straight lines. In our experience, and in what clinicians commonly report, the road usually includes setbacks, restarts, and slow rebuilding of trust; and it still works.
People restore relationships, return to work and school, become present parents again, and discover versions of themselves that addiction had buried.
Families learn boundaries, let go of guilt, and find their own support through resources like our Family Recovery Course.
The first chapter is usually a hard conversation, and often that conversation is a professionally guided intervention.
Families tell us again and again they wish they had acted sooner, because waiting rarely made anything better. Every story here begins with someone deciding the waiting was over.
We are currently gathering recovery stories from clients, families, and members of our team to share here, with full permission and care for everyone's privacy. Recovery belongs to the person living it, so we will only ever publish a story with the storyteller's blessing, and we are happy to change names and identifying details for anyone who prefers it. We take this slowly on purpose: a recovery story shared too early, or without real consent, can do harm to the person telling it.
In the meantime, you can read what families have said about working with us on our testimonials and referrals page, and you can get to know the people behind Clear Path, many of whom are in long-term recovery themselves, on our team page. Their journeys are recovery stories too.
If Clear Path Intervention was part of your family's recovery and you would like to share your story here, we would be honored to hear from you.

If you prefer. We only publish a story with the storyteller's blessing, and we are happy to change names and identifying details for anyone who asks.
Because hope needs proof. Real stories show families that the person behind the addiction is still reachable, and they cut through denial for the person still struggling in a way that lectures never can.
One confidential conversation with a professional interventionist. No pressure, no obligation. We'll help you find the right next step for your family.
