No matter how committed your loved one is to getting and staying sober, they are going to face an uphill battle in their first year of recovery. There is an almost constant “voice of addiction” chattering away in their head, and it is a battle for those new to recovery to turn down the volume on the voice they are hearing in their head.

At Clear Path Interventions, we offer sober companionship services to assist our clients during the recovery process. Our sober companions help serve as support systems, mentors, and advocates to motivate and encourage our clients. This role is an essential part of the post-treatment plan.

Our companions work to identify the early challenges of sobriety, triggers, barriers, and other blockages to create teachable moments to guide our clients on their path to recovery in the real world.

We use a very personalized and compassionate approach for all of the recovery process.

What is a Sober Companion?

A sober companion is an individual who works with our clients and their families to assist in creating a daily living plan in the real world for continued sobriety and lasting recovery. A sober companion works personally with each client to establish a healthy routine and develop a strong foundation for sobriety. Sober companions encourage and motivate clients along their journey.

Sober companions help in a number of tangible ways:

  • Preparing your home for living sober
  • Encouraging regular sleep, exercise & other wellness activities
  • Planning a healthy diet
  • Assisting with transport to meetings & appointments
  • Fostering participation in recovery community activities
  • Building a daily schedule with daily practices
  • Developing a network of positive, sober-supportive people
  • Encouraging things that build self-esteem & feelings of achievement
  • Being there to talk with and share concerns with

How Does a Sober Companion Fit Into My Loved One’s Life?

We understand every client will have a different recovery journey. Sober companions are intended to assist as day-to-day companions and to be present so loneliness can be avoided, which can be particularly troubling in early recovery. This helps those in recovery to rebuild social skills and confidence that may have been lost during active addiction.

We are here to help. Our team is eager to get to know you and learn how we can best serve you.  As family interventionists for addiction with a track record of success, we’re committed to removing any barriers standing in the way of progress, health and long-term wellness.

A family intervention for alcoholism or drug addiction is a process.

An intervention for alcohol or drug addiction is a process and not just a one-time event. We work with each family individually to create a personalized plan that will assist them best on their loved one’s road to recovery.

Understanding

Our first steps in the intervention process are to understand our clients’ situation & recovery needs, so we can identify how to best provide support. A great deal of strategic planning & coaching occurs with the family prior to the actual intervention.

The Family Meeting

On the day of the intervention, we will meet at a pre-determined and neutral location. The client will be supported by participating family members & close friends.

Treatment Center

After the intervention meeting, we will notify the treatment center that your loved one has chosen to attend rehabilitation and will be starting immediately.

Sober Transport

During this part of the process, our last step is to make sure the client arrives at the treatment center safely, unless other arrangements have been determined prior.

You don’t need to wait for your loved one to hit rock bottom. The role of a professional interventionist is to raise the bottom.

Our relationship with Treatment Centers

Please be aware we are not marketers or recruiters for treatment centers, and that we do not receive compensation or incentives for referrals. Our selection and recommendation of a treatment center is based solely on the facility’s match and fit with your loved one’s needs.

The team at Clear Path Interventions are certified family interventionists, certified intervention professionals & recovery coaches. We also have a wealth of experience & guidance to share with you in selection of a sober living home and other after-care options down the road for your family member.

We treat every situation with the same passion and level of care as if we were assisting a member of our own family.
