What Happens on the First Call

The first phone call is free, confidential, and carries no obligation. We provide free consultations and advice to every caller. You will speak with a member of our team who will listen to what is happening in your family, ask a few questions about your loved one's situation, and give you an honest read on whether a professional intervention is the right next step.

If it is, we will walk you through how our professional intervention services work, from planning and family preparation through the intervention itself and sober transport to treatment. If an intervention is not what your situation calls for, we will tell you that too, and point you toward resources that fit better.

Many callers are surprised by how much relief the first conversation brings. After months of carrying the worry alone, simply talking with someone who has guided hundreds of families through the same situation, and who is not shocked by anything you describe, changes how the problem feels. There is no script you need to follow and nothing you have to decide on the spot.

When You Should Not Wait to Call

Families often wonder if it is "bad enough" to call a professional. In our experience, if you are asking the question, it is worth a conversation. You do not need to wait for your loved one to hit rock bottom; the role of a professional interventionist is to raise the bottom. Whether the struggle involves alcohol, drugs, or mental health issues, earlier conversations tend to mean more options.

If this is an emergency: if your loved one is in immediate danger, overdosing, or threatening to harm themselves or others, call 911 right away. If they are in a mental health crisis, you can also call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which is free and available around the clock.

What to Have Ready When You Contact Us

You do not need anything prepared to call, but the conversation goes further if you can speak to a few basics: what substance or behavior you are concerned about, roughly how long it has been going on, whether your loved one has been to treatment before, and who in the family is willing to participate in an intervention. Do not worry if you do not know all of this; part of our job is helping you piece the picture together.

It also helps to think about timing and geography, even loosely. Knowing whether key family members can gather within the next week or two, and where everyone is located, lets us start shaping a realistic plan on the very first call. Because we serve all 50 states, distance is a logistics question, never a reason to wait.

If you prefer to start by reading, our intervention blog answers many of the questions families ask most, and our testimonials page shares experiences from families who have been where you are now. When you are ready, we are here: (850) 563-9776.
